TLC neurologist McDonald graduates from Georgia Physicians Leadership Academy

The Medical Association of Georgia (MAG) Foundation announced that Frank McDonald, a neurologist at The Longstreet Clinic, P.C., in Gainesville, was one of 10 physicians from across the state who recently graduated from the fourth class of the Georgia Physicians Leadership Academy (GPLA).

“The GPLA was established to develop physician leaders to improve health care delivery for their patients, communities, and the medical profession,” said GPLA Steering Committee Chair S. William Clark III, M.D. The Waycross-based ophthalmologist says that the year-long curriculum includes classes that cover leadership development, conflict resolution, media relations and advocacy – adding that participants must design and complete a leadership project over the course of the year.

Dr. McDonald, who is board-certified in neurology and fellowship-trained in electrophysiology, has served as President of the Hall County Medical Society and serves on the board. He also serves on the boards of Health Access Initiative, the Medical Association of Georgia and the Georgia Neurological Society. He is Vice Speaker of the House of Delegates of the Medical Association of Georgia and serves on its Executive Committee. In addition to his medical training, Dr. McDonald earned an MBA from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School.

The GPLA is a MAG Foundation program that was designed by the Medical Association of Georgia. The mission of the Medical Association of Georgia Foundation – a non-profit, non-stock corporation – is to enable physicians to support projects that affect scientific medicine and public health.

Dr. McDonald sees patients at 1498 Jesse Jewell Parkway, Suite A, in Gainesville. Contact 770-771-6916 or visit www.longstreetclinic.com/neurology.

The Longstreet Clinic, P.C. (TLC), incorporated in 1995, is a multi-specialty medical group owned and managed by physicians. TLC has grown to include more than 90 physicians and 50 nurse practitioners, physicians assistants and certified nurse midwives in over 15 specialties. With its main campus located in Gainesville, TLC physicians also see patients at offices in Oakwood, Buford, Braselton, Dahlonega, Baldwin and Toccoa.
