Dr. del Mazo completed his bachelor’s degree in biology at Johns Hopkins University. The Atlanta native returned home to earn a master’s degree in Applied Biology at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He then earned his medical degree at Emory University School of Medicine.
Dr. del Mazo completed his General Surgery residency and served as Chief Resident at Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he also completed a fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery. He is a fellow with the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. del Mazo performs minimally invasive bariatric surgery at Gwinnett Medical Center and Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Before joining Robert L. Richard, M.D., FACS at Obesity Solutions, Dr. del Mazo had a successful bariatric surgery practice in Atlanta.
